In the city, you will notice many blue street zones designated for paid parking. From 08:30 to 20:00 , hourly rates range from €0.50 to €1.50, and some areas may have a maximum parking duration of only 1 hour. Be sure to pay attention to the parking signs in each area. Parking in these zones is free from 20:00 to 08:30 and on Sundays.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not park in Viale Garibaldi overnight on Thursdays, as there is a weekly market along Viale Garibaldi on Fridays. Unfortunately, we have seen many cars with foreign plates being towed away early on Friday mornings.

Free of charge parkings.

There are several free parking options available in La Spezia, depending on your needs. Keep in mind that during the high season, finding a parking spot may be quite challenging, but it is always worth a try. If you plan to leave your car for a few days, we highly recommend checking on it every couple of days to ensure everything is okay and to make sure there are no unexpected parking prohibition signs posted.

There are free parking spaces available along Viale Giovanni Amendola, on the side of the water canal (to your right if you are driving toward the port of La Spezia). Two areas offer free parking:

1. The first area, located between Rotatoria Giuseppe Oriana and Viale Giovanni Amendola 14, has approximately 30-35 parking spots.
2. The second area, situated between Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi and Via Gaeta, offers about 70-75 parking spots.

This is a white parking zone, and parking is free of charge. However, please note that the white lines are no longer visible. As long as you park on the side of the water canal, it is free to park there.

A few free parking spaces can be found along Via Nicolo Fieschi between Viale Giovanni Amendola and Via dei Poppi, on both sides of the street. There are approximately 182 parking spots available in total.  The white parking zones are free of charge. You can reach La Spezia Centrale train station on foot in 10-20 minutes, depending on where you parked. If you prefer not to walk, you can catch a bus to La Spezia, which runs along Via Nicolo Fieschi. Important note: Do not park in Via Nicolo Fieschi during home games for the local soccer team, Spezia Calcio. Your car will be towed away!

Use the following address to find this small parking lot – Via dei Pioppi 12, 19123 La Spezia SP Italy. There are about 13 parking spots available. Important note: Do not park on Via dei Pioppi during home games for the local soccer team, Spezia Calcio, as your car will be towed away. The parking lot is located 1,6 km from the train station - La Spezia Centrale, or about 20-minute walk. The distance to the La Spezia ferry terminal – 2 km, or about a 25-minute walk. If you prefer not to walk, you can catch a bus to La Spezia, which runs along Via Nicolo Fieschi.

The parking lot is situated 1.1 km from La Spezia Centrale train station, which is approximately a 16-minute walk. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the stop called Pegazzano Baracchini. The bus routes 1, 14, and 18 will take you to the city center. To reach the train station, get off at the Piazza Brin stop; for the ferry terminal, get off at the Chiodo stop.

Free white zone parking. Use this address to locate it: Piazzale Papa Giovanni XXIII 1, 19121 La Spezia SP. There are about 50-60 parking spots available. The parking lot is located 1,8 km from the train station - La Spezia Centrale, or about 25-minute walk. The distance to the La Spezia ferry terminal – 1 km, or about a 15-minute walk.

Another option for free parking in La Spezia is at Parcheggio Via del Cappelletto, located between Via Antoniana and Via Fontevivo. Use this address to find it - Via del Cappelletto 9, 19124 La Spezia SP. There are many white zone parking spots available along both sides of Via del Cappelletto. The parking lot is located 3 km from the train station - La Spezia Centrale, or about 25-minute walk. The distance to the La Spezia ferry terminal – 2 km, or about a 28-minute walk. You can also take a bus to La Spezia Centrale train station and to Ferry Terminal from the bus stop called "Ospedale" on Via Vittorio Veneto. The bus lines available at this stop are L, S, 3, and C. Bus stop for the ferry terminal called Chiodo.

This free-of-charge parking lot is located next to PALAPARK in Piazza Piero Pozzoli. There are about 150 parking spaces available. To get there, follow the directions to PALAPARK but do not enter it. Instead, continue to the right, pass the blue zone parking area designated for tourist buses, and you will arrive at the tree-lined parking area. Location: The parking is located beneath La Spezia Centrale train station, and has two entrances.

According to what we know, one of the most affordable and conveniently located parking options in the blue zone is on Via Nicolo Fieschi.

Location: These parking spaces can be found along Via Nicolo Fieschi between Viale Giovanni Amendola and Via dei Pioppi, on the right side of the street, in the direction of Porto Venere. You can reach La Spezia Centrale train station on foot within 10-15 minutes, depending on where you parked. If you prefer not to walk, you can catch a bus to the city center, which runs along Via Nicolo Fieschi. Important note: Do not park on Via Nicolo Fieschi during home games for the local soccer team, Spezia Calcio, as your car will be towed away.

Above-ground two level parking lot in Piazza d´Armi.

Location: The location is 800 meters from the train station - La Spezia Centrale, or about a 12-minute walk. The distance to the La Spezia ferry terminal – 1,5 km, or about a 20-minute walk. If you prefer not to walk, a shuttle bus service is available to connect you with the city center, the port, and other parts of La Spezia.

Parking hourly rates: first 12 hours is free, then €2.00/h. Great free parking option if you are in La Spezia just for a day and would like to park the car for a few hours.

Parking daily subscription rates: 1 day - €5.00, 2 days - €10.00, 3-30 days - €30.00. To get a daily or monthly rate, you have to convert the parking ticket into a subscription within 10 minutes of entering the parking lot at the automatic payment machine. The subscription allows you to leave and re-enter the parking lot as you wish, by using the same parking ticket.

Lost parking ticket charge: €30.00

Shuttle Bus: The shuttle bus stop is located in front of the parking lot, which features a designated yellow bus parking area. The shuttle operates from Monday to Saturday as follows: every 15 minutes from 07:00 to 08:30, and every 30 minutes from 09:00 to 20:00. To ride for free, please present your parking ticket to the bus driver. Please note that there is no shuttle service on Sundays.
You can get off at the stop called Piazza Brin, which is just a short walk from the train station. Alternatively, you can continue on the shuttle and disembark at Via D. Chiodo for the ferry terminal.

Underground parking garage.

Location: The parking garage is located 1,8 km from the train station - La Spezia Centrale, or about 25-minute walk. The distance to the La Spezia ferry terminal – 700 meters, or about a 10-minute walk.

You can also take a bus to La Spezia Centrale train station from the bus stop called "Comune" on Via Vittorio Veneto. The bus lines available at this stop are L, S, 3, and C.
