As hosts of vacation rentals in La Spezia, we frequently receive inquiries from our guests upon arrival or during check-in about parking options. Common questions include: Where can I park? Is there free parking available in the Cinque Terre? Is it easy parking in the Cinque Terre?

To explore the Cinque Terre we recommend doing it by train. Parking in the Cinque Terre can be challenging, especially in the high season from April to October. Finding a free parking space in the Cinque Terre can be very stressful. You drive on the SP370 from La Spezia to Riomaggiore. About 100 meters after turning right towards Riomaggiore onto the SP32, there are around 8 free parking options on the left. After another 200 meters towards Riomaggiore, there are around 14 free parking options on the right-hand side. The parking spaces are located about 2 km from the center of Riomaggiore. There is a bus or a steep hiking trail 593V to Riomaggiore. The starting point for the hiking trail is at the first stop sign after the right turn from the SP370 onto the SP32 to Riomaggiore. In about 30 Minutes of steep hiking you reach the historic center of Riomaggiore.

At the cemetery, about 300 meters from the Riomaggiore car park "Rio Park", there are yellow parking spaces where you can park with the blue parking disc. If you don't have a blue parking disc, you are not allowed to park in this zone. There are two zones, 5 parking spaces, 2 hours of parking are permitted from Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 12 parking spaces, a maximum of 30 minutes are permitted, Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

You drive on the SP370 from Riomaggiore center towards Manarola. After 3.5 km you will find the Zorza white zone free parking options on the left steet side. There are 17 free white parking spaces. Since you don't have a parking ticket, you have to pay for the bus to Riomaggiore or Manarola.

Hike from Zorza Parking to Riomaggiore: There is a steep hiking trail 501 to Riomaggiore. From the Zorza Parking you have to walk about 200 meters along the road towards Manarola. The hiking trail 501 starts on the left side. It is a 10 - 15 minutes steep hike to the center of Riomaggiore.

There is free parking on the way to the Parking Lot Posella and Acquarino. The first 30 parking spaces can be found on the right-hand side about 150 meters after the street sign Manarola at the roundabout. Make sure to pay attention to the parking signs! There are no parking spaces marked, you park on the side of the street. There are another 16 free parking spaces on the left, further down towards Manarola. Pay attention to the parking signs! Again, there are no parking spaces marked. You will find another 10 free parking spaces further down towards Manarola on the left. There are no parking spaces marked. Pay attention to the signs!

There are 15 free parking options in the white zone in the little village of Volastra, between Manarola und Corniglia.

There is a steep hiking trail to Manarola or take the bus. Start the hike at the small piazza next to the church. Follow the sign Manarola, hiking trail 506. It takes about 40 minutes to the historic center of Manarola. Use the panoramic way. It is beautiful!

There are around 20 free white zone parking options in Via Stazione towards Corniglia. You driving on the SP51 coming from Manarola towards Corniglia. Turn left at the signs Vernazza/Corniglia/S.Bernardino. 5 km after those street signs always in direction Corniglia you will reach the paid parking lot. Around this parking lot you will find the free white zone parking options. From the parking lot, it takes you about 10 minutes on foot to the historic center of Corniglia.

Note: There is also a hiking trail from Volastra to Corniglia. Starting point in Volastra behind the church at the small piazza. Hiking trail 586. It takes you about 1.5 hours to the historic center of Corniglia. One of the most beautiful hikes!

There is currently no information about free parking.

There are several free parking options on the SP38 after the helipad towards the old town "Centro Storico". Starting with 45 white zone parkings on the right side, then 15 white zone parkings on the left side, then 25 white zone parkings on the left. Depending on where you have parked, you are about 2km or approximately 40 minutes by foot away from the center of Monterosso al Mare. There are several bus stops to the center of Monterosso.

An other option is to hike to Monterosso. There is a steep hiking trail SVA, it starts right next to the helicopter landing pad. Hiking time to the center of Monterosso is about 30 minutes. Depends on where you have parked the car, there is another hiking trail 588, it starts 1 km from the helipad along the main road in direction to Monterosso al Mare on the left side. Hiking time to the center of Monterosso is 20 minutes.

Note: Do not park in the yellow parking spaces, these are reserved for residents!

Parking garage

Location: Drive all the way down to Riomaggiore. Turn left at the roundabout. The parking garage is on the left and has two entrances. Attention regarding the height limit of 1.95 meters. The historic center can be reached in 10 minutes on foot.

Hike from Zorza Parking to Riomaggiore: There is a steep hiking trail 501 to Riomaggiore. From the Zorza Parking you have to walk about 200 meters along the road towards Manarola. The hiking trail 501 starts on the left side. It is a 10 - 15 minutes steep hike to the center of Riomaggiore.

Parking Lots

Location: The first Parking Lot with 10 parking spaces in the blue zone is 300 meters after the roundabout on the SP370 to Manarola. Do not park in the yellow zone. You can reach the second larger Parking Lot with around 60 parking spaces in about 150 meters after the first Parking Lot. In about 15 minutes on foot you can reach the historic center of Manarola.

Parking Lot

Location: Via Stazione Corniglia. You driving on the SP51 coming from Manarola towards Corniglia. Turn left at the signs Vernazza/Corniglia/S.Bernardino. The parking lot is 5 km after those street signs in direction Corniglia. From the parking lot you can reach the historic center of Corniglia by foot in 10 minutes.

Guarded private parking lot

Location: The parking lot is 1.5 km or about a 25 minute walk from the historical center of Vernazza.

Note:  You have to give the car key to the staff. The vehicles are maneuvered by the staff in order to fill the space to the maximum. Parking reservations are recommended in high season.

Location: The parking lot is 1.3 km or about a 23-minute walk from the center of Vernazza.

Note: If you want to take the bus to Vernazza, the daily price of Euro 20.00 is charged.
In high season you will may asked to hand over your car key. The vehicles are maneuvered by the staff in order to fill the space to the maximum.

Monterosso al Mare is arranged in two parts. Old town, follow the street sign "Centro Storico" and the new district of Fegina, follow the street sign "Lungomare Fegina". A pedestrian tunnel connects the two parts. At those tow street signs you have to decide in which part you would like to park in.

Location: A 4 minutes walk to the old town of Monterosso al Mare.
